Individualism and Community Culture

Dallas Morning News editoral columnist Rod Dreher writes on how our obsession with individualism and cultural revolution have killed community. Redemption for the Man in Black

Johnny CashThe folks in Starkville, MS haven’t hosted a good football game for the home folks in quite some time but it does look like they will be hosting a music festival that is a long time coming.

The home to Mississippi State University will honor Johnny Cash and pardon him for a 1965 arrest that led Cash to write “Starkville City Jail.” A concert, charity auction, viewing of “Walk the Line” and a sermon on redemption are on the docket.

The details and a cool t-shirt (you’ll have to learn the story of the arrest to understand it) are here – pardonjohnnycash.com.
